I’m a big sister so I don’t know how it feels to be a little sister. I was an only child for a number of years, then a baby sibling came along. I can remember the pride in felt every time I announced that I was going to have a baby. Of course, Mom was quick to jump in and correct the situation, reassuring everyone that it was she who was going to have the baby.

I was permitted the honor of helping to pick out the name of my younger sibling. I felt so very big and important. I really looked forward to the event, and it was quite a while after the baby was born before the newness of the situation wore off.
