Exceedingly, Abundantly Tile Coaster

Thanksgiving is just around the corner in the U.S. If you’re like many people you find it hard to deal with putting together a full traditional Thanksgiving Day feast, when you are possibly working or on the go with a family. I recall how thankful I was when someone, who was a particularly good cook, would include me in their circle of family and friends for Thanksgiving Day dinner.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to spend Thanksgiving Day with friends and family, and it’s at someone else’s home, this Exceedingly, Abundantly Tile Coaster would make a very nice Thanksgiving Day gift to take along with you, just as a way to say, “Thanks,” to your host or hostess. It’s just a little something, but your friend or family member will appreciate your thoughtfulness with your simple expression of thanks and gratitude with this Thanksgiving gift.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

I kept seeing, on my calendar here, that Columbus Day, October 13, 2008, was also the day designated as Canadian Thanksgiving. It prompted me to do a little ‘googling’.

The first thing I noted was that the Canadian Thanksgiving which is for giving thanks for a successful harvest, is considerably earlier than the one in the United States. This is simply due to the fact that crops come to harvest earlier in the more northern Canada than in the U.S.

Both the United States and the Canadian Thanksgiving observances were established around the time of harvest and many Thanksgiving designs, symbols and traditions are shared between the two, such as pumpkin pie and the cornucopia. Thanksgiving in Canada goes back to 1578, making it the first and oldest thanksgiving observance in North America.

Canadians, we salute you and wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
